Aanchal Bansal Gandhi and Shreya Adhikari from IDR have written a fantastic article about the use of data in commons management, as part of a series supported under the Common Ground initiative.
Here is the link and an archived PDF.
Aanchal and Shreya talk about the CoRE stack’s philosophy of using data to help create conversations, strengthen participation, and provide hard evidence to communities to make claims more effectively for managing their commons. They also cover the fantastic work being done by EQUINOCT on tidal forecasting using community knowledge and data. And efforts by Tarkam to present the data in easy to understand ways through better visualizations, as well as federated knowledge repositories for data sharing.
